Luis Esteban Cruzaley

Pianist - Educator

Mexican pianist Luis Esteban Cruzaley Rojas, originally from Morelia, Michoacán, began his musical studies at the age of six at the Conservatorio de las Rosas. Guided first by Professor Yadira López and later, during his bachelor’s degree, by Maestro Alexander A. Pashkov in piano and Maestra Gellya Dubrova in chamber music, he forged an artistic path that has established him as a versatile performer and dedicated advocate of the piano and chamber music repertoire.

He has performed as a soloist and chamber music pianist in Mexico, the United States, Spain, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Argentina, and has further enriched his education through piano studies in Germany with Grigory Gruzman and in Russia with Alexander Vasilievich Pashkov.

Mr. Cruzaley earned a Master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts in Chicago, United States, under the guidance of the distinguished Mexican pianist Jorge Federico Osorio. While in Chicago, he also participated in piano masterclasses with renowned artists such as Marc-André Hamelin and Robert Levin.

From 2016 to 2018, he was part of the Collaborative Piano Studio of Ángela Yoffe in the United States. During this time, he pursued Vocal Coaching with Martin Katz and studied chamber music with Igor Fedotov, Roberto Díaz, Adam Neiman, among others.

In 2018, he was awarded First Prize at the International Concerto Competition of the Costa Rica Piano Fest.

In 2020, he pursued a Master’s degree in Musical Research in Madrid, Spain, under the mentorship of Spanish pianist Pablo Galdo.

He was subsequently invited to join a distinguished group of young Mexican pianists selected to perform the “32 Piano Sonatas by L. V. Beethoven”, an event organized by Maestra Guadalupe Parrondo in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut in Mexico City.

In October 2025, he will take part in the Mozart Festival, an ambitious project featuring the complete cycle of piano concertos by W. A. Mozart.

Alongside his concert career, Mr. Cruzaley has been active in a variety of cultural management initiatives.

He currently resides in Morelia, Michoacán, where he is a member of the Piano Faculty at the Conservatorio de las Rosas, actively developing projects as both a chamber music pianist and a soloist.
